The UK Picture Editors' Guild Awards 2012 : judging
The Awards are established as a premier event celebrating the best of British photo-journalism in association with some of the UK's most successful business and media organisations.
David Ofield of the Evening Standard takes on the rôle of chairman of judges, leading the panels of top picture editors judging each of the the competition's ten categories.
A panel of judges will be appointed, each with responsibility for one or more categories.
Judging will be carried out online.
Any entries that do not satisfy the Terms & Conditions of entry will not go forward to the judging process.
Entries can be re-sequenced by the judges so that entries from different entrants can be viewed alongside one other for direct comparison, to reduce the chance of an entrant being disadvantaged by the sequence of receipt of their entry.
Shortlisted entries will be marked as such by the judges.
At the end of the judging process, shortlisted entries will be confirmed.
Shortlisted entries will then be shown on the Guild website, with thumbnail images, entrant name etc.
